Manchester City midfielder Fernandinho ends doubts about his future by signing new two-year deal worth £150,000 a week

Fernandinho has signed a new two-year contract at Manchester City to commit his future to the club until 2020.

The Brazil midfielder, a £30million signing from Shakhtar Donetsk in 2013, would have been a free agent this summer. However, City confirmed on Friday morning that after months of negotiations the 30-year-old has agreed new terms on a deal worth up to £150,000 a week.

‘This is a club with a fantastic future and I want to be a part of it for as long as possible,’ said Fernandinho. ‘I’m very, very happy to sign a new deal and to stay at this club.
